Meet the speaker
Renae Bloom, BS ’10 (accounting)
Renae Bloom earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the UO Lundquist College of Business and her master’s degree in professional accounting from the University of Washington Foster School of Business. She immediately launched her career in public accounting at PwC in Seattle. Two years in, she moved into recruiting and never went back.
She spent the next 13 years in talent acquisition, including eight at Amazon as a recruiter, hiring leader, and Bar Raiser, the role Amazon created to hold the hiring bar and, when needed, veto a hire the team wants to make. Those seats gave her a clear view of how hiring decisions get made, and why being qualified is rarely enough.
In 2026, she founded Vis Talent Partners, where she coaches experienced professionals through job searches, promotions, and career pivots. She has reviewed countless resumes and sat in the debriefs. Now, she's sharing the playbook.
