SAA Root to Route: Alumni Reflections on Career and Change
As a student, questions may come up such as: What is your plan after graduation? What will you do with your degree? Or even, do you have a job lined up? Regardless of the answers you may have for these questions, the assumption underlying these questions is the idea of permanence.
While it is common for people to choose a career that aligns with the major that they chose, it is less common nowadays for people to stay with the same plan or job for their entire career.
At this event, we invite you to network with UO alumni who will share their journeys post-graduation to illustrate how:
- To take core competencies/skills from your degree and apply them to various jobs;
- To influence your job path based on your core values;
- To navigate conversations about career changes with loved ones;
- To face uncertainty and create a more meaningful future;
- To redirect your career path when something unexpected happens.
Heavy appetizers will be provided.
