What does the SAA Leadership Team Do?
While students are still at the University of Oregon, the Student Alumni Association (SAA) begins the process of fostering the love of being a Duck by creating connections among the UO community and fostering engaged future alumni.
The SAA Leadership Team (a.k.a. SAALT) does this by providing SAA members with opportunities to create strong relationships with fellow Ducks by facilitating interactions between students and alumni through SAA events to enhance the student experience thereby creating a new generation of Ducks who see the value of a lifelong connection to the UO.
Internships will begin Spring term and last through the 2026-2027 academic year.

All UO students who are currently enrolled in classes can apply for the SAA Leadership Team internship! Applications close on Wednesday, February 4.
We are currently hiring interns for our Alumni Relations, Leadership Development, and Membership Engagement cornerstones. On the application, you will be asked to select which cornerstone(s) you would prefer to join.
Alumni Relations: The Alumni Relations team is responsible for connecting students with alumni through various opportunities throughout the year. The team works together to plan career readiness workshops in partnership with the UO Career Center, host various networking events, and seek out unique opportunities for students to increase their professional networks. Alumni Relations interns should have an interest in public relations, networking, working with alumni, and public speaking.
Leadership Development: The Leadership Development team focuses on the internal relations of the SAA Leadership Team internship program. The team plans professional development activities for training, meetings, and leadership retreats and team bonding activities to improve the overall intern experience. This team also leads hiring for SAA Leadership Team interns. Leadership Development interns should have an interest in Human Resources, talent management, and leadership will learn useful career skills on this team.
Membership Engagement: The Membership Engagement team has two main goals: create exciting events for SAA members (such as the Fall Welcome Carnival and the Pregame Quack-Down) and increase SAA membership by engaging with UO students across campus. The team seeks to get students to embody the phrase "Once a Duck, Always a Duck." Membership Engagement interns should have an interest in event planning, community building, UO activities, and strategic communications.
