Most people treat their LinkedIn profile like a resume that happens to live online. Hiring professionals treat it like a database they search.

Your LinkedIn profile shapes how recruiters, hiring leaders, colleagues, and executives within your own organization see you, often long before anyone reaches out. Qualified people with polished profiles go unfound every day. This session covers the profile itself, your photo, headline, about and experience sections, and skills, and how recruiter search actually works on the other side of it. It is not a content strategy session and it is not about posting more. The event is hosted by the Oregon Executive MBA Alumni Network and is open to all UO alumni and friends.

Whether you are exploring new opportunities, positioning yourself for a promotion, or simply want the right opportunities to find you, you will leave with specific changes you can make the same evening. Every attendee also gets a LinkedIn Tips Guide.

Bring your questions. James Lund, MBA '24, president of the OEMBA Alumni Network board and managing partner of ProFocus Technology, will present, followed by an extended Q&A with two Portland recruiting professionals: Adam Morris, CEO of SalesFirst Recruiting, and Corbin C, career advisor at Boly:Welch.

💬 Discussion topics include:

  • How recruiter search actually works, and why qualified people get missed
  • The profile fields that matter most and the ones quietly working against you
  • Getting found without applying and getting noticed inside your own company
  • What recruiters tell candidates privately, from a panel who does this daily
